Message From The Secretary, UK

Hi Everybody!
I want to commend to you the good work being done by Sunath Kumar and his son Samuel in witnessing to the gospel of Jesus in Vinukonda and surrounding villages. It began around 1966, when Kumar's father, Devadanam Joseph came to Britain to study. He stayed with my parents before returning to India to become an itinerant evangelist.

In later years Kumar and then Samuel attended Bible College in Britain, so we know them well.  My husband and I have visited them twice in India.

Each time we visited several villages where the local congregation is ministered to by an appointed Evangelist.  Some have faithfully served for many years, while in other villages younger leaders have taken up this role.  The Evangelists are themselves trained by Kumar and Samuel for 4 or 5 days each month at the Bible School in Vinukonda.

Sarojini, Kumar's wife caters for them, as well as ministering to the ladies and leading the Sunday school.  Samuel's wife Vijaya also assists.

We saw one of the Medical Camps that are held from time to time in various villages. Dr. Amrutha, Kumar's sister, dispensed medicines to over 100 needy villagers that day.  At another village 75 blankets were distributed, one per family.

My husband, Russ, and I send out regular prayer letters from India and administer the funds, sending out regular monthly amounts.  There are no administration costs - everything that is given is used in India.

Kumar and Samuel are keen and genuine in their desire to serve the Lord, always looking out for new opportunities of witness.

think that the money we send is being used effectively and wisely.  There are opportunities they would like to take. The evening school extra tuition is an idea that will be tried out from June 2010 as a means of helping children doing better in their studies and as an outreach opportunity to them and their families.  We shall need extra funds to keep it going.
