'Evening School' is for poorer children in 'Vinukonda'. It is not a school in the sense that it is open through out the day, but only in the evenings. Al though there are many poor children in 'Vinukonda', we have zeroed in on at only 50 children at the moment. Most of the children's parents are either agricultural labourers or unskilled workers whose daily wages are very minimal. It has been our desire to get through to these people with the 'Gospel' for which purpose we believe that the 'Evening School' is an appropriate one. |

We teach the children all through the week and on 'Sundays', they will come for the 'Sunday School'. Currently we are providing a meal followed by the ‘Sunday School’. We would like to give the children our best in terms of education, discipline and character. As we are in no mood nor have resources to start a school for the underprivileged at the moment, we let the children go to the local government schools. But in the evenings, the children would come to us to learn. What we are doing at the moment is that we are just providing them the free education by a very committed team from the Church. And VM&MF pays for their time at the Evening School but it is entirely free for the children. The age group of the children is between 10 to 14 and currently we have taken children belonging 4th,5th,6th and 7th classes. And we will only retain them up until they approach the 10th class which is the final class in the 'High School'.
Our vision for this project is to see the children coming to Christ and also to see them making a huge progress in their lives as they unfold various opportunities by studying better. It puts them right on the top of the social ladder . It will be the most satisfying job you would have done, if you had seen the children growing up in the Lord and also doing well in studies. Al though we are meeting the basic need of education, there are so many ancillary needs to be met. The ancillary needs like stationary, food, clothing, slippers, soaps, snacks etc. We at VM&MF appeal to you to sponsor a child to see him /her grow in Christ as well as do better in studies. It costs only £ 10 or Rs.600 per child to look after him/her per month. Sponsor or adopt a child and support the cause, you will be greatly blessed. |
